  • Demonic Brilliance Film Festival

    DBFF launched as a small online film festival in 2020, and thanks to local and international supporters, the event has grown to a cool horror film festival that highlights the best in indie horror from all around the world while raising money for local charities.

  • Louis Anthony Bryan

    Louis Anthony Bryan (he/him) is a theatre artist and educator from Trinidad and Tobago and an active member of the local art scene. Anthony’s writing blends film and theatre narratives, Afro-surrealism, and the vibe of early 2000s Saturday morning cartoons. Anthony also focuses on creating spaces for immigrant and racialized storytellers in New Brunswick.

  • Rodelle Rancourt

    Saint John based actor Rodelle Rancourt has studied vocal, dance, and acting and is very involved in her community, acting in short films and commercials. After moving to New Brunswick in 2021, someone suggested that she join the NB Film Co-op, and she has never looked back.

  • Michael Peers & Yasmine Majchrzak

    Yasmine and Michael are emerging filmmakers based in St. John’s, NL. They were selected as a writing team for the PEI Screenwriters Bootcamp, and their script “Immaculate” was chosen for development by the Memorial University Writer in Residence. Their recent short film “A Fish Story” premiered at the Silver Wave Film Festival, where it was nominated for Best Atlantic Short.

  • Chad Ball

    Chad has been a part of the New Brunswick music scene since his university days, playing in various jazz, funk, and fusion-type bands. Since then, he has mellowed and found his authentic voice in the upright bass. Chad draws his creative inspiration from the trios of the New York scene, as well as the cerebral approach of European jazz. Although he has played in a variety of genres, he is most at home in the intimacy of smaller combos where space and silence play an equal role to sound. This is the inspiration behind the songs he and his bandmate, Nick Gummeson, wrote for their duo, BRIDGE. Chad is the co-founder of Fredericton’s Gin and Jazz series.

  • Theresa MacKnight

    Theresa MacKnight is a lifelong visual artist and educator living in St. Andrews, N.B. She works mainly in painting and drawing, with a concentration in oil painting. She is active and supportive in her arts community, making connections through volunteerism and teaching. MacKnight exhibits her work regionally and has completed several residences, including a summer creative residency at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery. She also received the 2020 Marjorie Nae Wilson Mentorship Grant from the Sheila Hugh McKay Foundation.

  • Jeremy Murray

    Jeremy Murray is a University of New Brunswick graduate with a focus in media arts and cultures (2017) and film production (2011-2018), specializing in film editing. Jeremy is a wheelchair user and has limited access to creative opportunities. The residency will allow Jeremy to interact with film peers and the general public through moderated artist talks and filmmaking workshops geared toward his training and expertise. During his residency, Jeremy will also have support and time to work on his own creative project.

  • Cass MàZ & Ysabelle Vautour

    New Brunswick-based artist Cass MàZ is a visual artist and budding comedian. She dabbles in various mediums, from acrylics to alcohol inks and gouache. Lately, her favorite activity has been sketching with charcoal. Cass is a New Brunswick College of Craft and Design graduate and has been featured in their magazine, Created Here.

  • Eddie Young

    As the driving force behind Roots and Soul Promotions, Eddie Young has significantly supported local music through festivals like Living Roots Music Festival and Jazz On The Wolastoq and has also booked for many rooms and stages in and around the city. He is also this year’s winner of the Tony George Award, which is given out at the annual River Jam Music Festival.

    Nineteen-year-old Emma Murray is the artist officially known as Fuzion. She aims to be a big part of the future of music, which is fresh and full of life. Recently, she published her first single, In Our Dreams We Never Die, which includes three tracks. Every song and video to date was recorded, filmed, edited, produced, and distributed from her bedroom.

    Bea Waters has been writing stories since childhood. She strives to provide an escape into adventure for all who need one while fostering a sense of belonging and cooperation. Her favourite characters are the weirdos. Her favourite themes center around the secrets we keep and the quest to find our tribe, our community. Project Human is Bea's first published novel.

  • Lorna Kirk

    Lorna Kirk has been immersed in film and television as a director since earning her MA in Visual Anthropology (UK). Lorna is a talented filmmaker who has directed documentaries and series for over a decade. Lorna has also worked as a 3rd AD on fiction films. Lorna’s desire to find new ways and methods of bringing stories to life can be seen in her award-winning National Film Board animated short ‘Him.' Lorna is currently working on an animated documentary feature, ’36 Hitchin Road’ (England) - an intimate exploration of the unique relationship between a dying elderly woman and her unlikely caregiver, filmed over a decade ago. Lorna won the BravoFactual Award at Hot Docs for her pitch on ’36 Hitchin Road.’

  • Kehinde Olorunyomi

    Kehinde Olorunyomi is a filmmaker with over 20 screenplays to her name. Her works, such as “Real Lagos Fake Life” and “The Novelist,” have been featured on Netflix. She holds a diploma in screenwriting from the London Academy of Radio, Film, and TV, UK, and a certificate in Character Make-up from the Cinema Makeup School in Los Angeles, California. As a screenwriter, she has received awards in Toronto and Ghana for Best Original Screenplay and Best Movie. Kehinde aims to highlight African stories that resonate with audiences worldwide.

    Pete Titus is a UNB graduate, filmmaker, and active NB Film Co-op member. The New Brunswick film scene has welcomed him with open arms, and he has worked on productions as a PA, grip, and assistant camera for several years.

  • Mélanie Paulin

    Moncton based Mélanie Paulin (she/her) is an emerging contemporary artist who works in textiles and printmaking. Her practice centers on self-care, environmental care, and motherhood by revisiting and reinterpreting her personal life experiences.

    A graduate of the Foundation for Visual Arts program at the New Brunswick College for Craft and Design and alumnus of the ArtsLinkNB CATAPULT Arts Accelerator program, Paulin also serves on the board of Galerie Sans Nom in Moncton. Paulin’s work has been supported by artsnb and shown at Galerie Sans Nom, Atelier Imago, George Fry Gallery, and FICFA festival.

  • Laura Forrester

    Laura Forrester is a multidisciplinary artist based in Fredericton, NB. She holds an Interdisciplinary Honours Degree in Visual Arts. Her professional experience ranges from her private painting practice to incorporating arts businesses like the Capital Art Sale and the Grassroots Gallery. Laura has created many large-scale commissioned murals in Fredericton and around the Maritimes. Laura recently completed an Artist Residency at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery and an exhibition at the Craig Gallery in Halifax, NS. Laura is a recipient of the Canada Council for the Arts Explore and Create Grant. She recently completed a large mural at Hanwell Park Academy that the NB Department of Tourism, Culture and Heritage commissioned.

  • Ramneet Kalra

    Ramneet Kalra is a multi-disciplinary artist and curator who combines his passion for poetry and photography. Author of The Lazy Motivation and Here We Are Forever, Ramneet taught himself photography. He uses his images to capture the essence of his surroundings. Ramneet also discovered his love for poetry and started to integrate his writing into his photographic work. Ramneet’s artwork has been shown in exhibitions in India, USA and in Canada. He has also served as Artist in Residence for Fredericton Arts Alliance

    Ramneet curated two shows for NB BIPOC artists called Outside Perspective in October and November of 2023 and has more upcoming curations in June, September and October 2024. With each exhibition, Ramneet invites you on a journey of discovery, where every artwork becomes a doorway to new perspectives and deeper understanding
